Our  Story

More than a beauty studio

Rockabella is where beauty is done differently — with intention, care, and unapologetic self-expression.

Our Values

At Rockabella Beauty, our vision is to redefine what a beauty salon can be. We exist to make our clients feel seen and celebrated in their full expression. Our values guide every decision we make, from the techniques we use to the way we treat each other. We stand for inclusivity, honesty, and individuality, and we've created a space where people feel safe to express themselves, receive services that prioritise health and individuality, and connect through a shared respect for real beauty in all its forms.

  • We celebrate the cultures, identities, and experiences that make our team and clients unique, comprising individuals from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds, and identities. We honour and respect differences, and see them as a strength to be celebrated. This is also reflected in our creative diversity, as we embrace all forms of art, design, and expression through our nail artistry.

  • We believe beauty should never feel exclusive. That means our doors are open to all races, genders, pronouns, and abilities. Every person deserves to feel welcome, valued, and safe. We reject discrimination of any kind and create a space where everyone belongs, regardless of gender, race, ability, or background. You belong here.

  • We exist to celebrate and enhance your beauty on your terms. We are not here to 'fix' anyone. Every treatment is designed to celebrate what already exists. Every service, treatment, and interaction is designed to leave our clients feeling confident, cared for, and more connected to their inner-strength and creativity through the transformative power of beauty.

  • We prioritise nail and skin health. We are transparent, ethical, and honest in our recommendations. We place the health of our clients’ nails, skin, and well-being above all else. That includes choosing safer techniques, offering honest advice over high-ticket upsells, and using products that support rather than compromise your body.

A note from our owner, Angelique

A woman taking a selfie indoors, smiling, with colorful posters on the wall behind her.

Surprising fact: I originally studied to become a vet. But something in me knew it wasn’t my path. Not because I wasn’t capable or didn’t value the work, but because I wanted to create something different. A space where people felt welcomed, seen, and celebrated as their whole creative selves. Something I saw missing in the beauty industry.

When the opportunity came — thanks to a little divine timing — I said yes to taking over Rockabella Beauty. I trained, qualified, and stepped into a space with one clear goal: to create the kind of beauty salon I always wished existed.

A space that prioritises people and creative expression.

A salon where your identity, culture, and preferences are respected and embraced.

A business that values care, creativity, and community equally — and never compromises one for the other.

As a Malaysian-born woman, I’ve experienced firsthand what it feels like not to be fully welcomed in traditional beauty spaces — for how I look, how I speak, how I think, and how I choose to express myself. I remember being told as a young girl that “no one will love you unless you bleach your skin.” That moment stayed with me. It shaped the way I saw myself — and even more so, the way I wanted others to feel in their own skin.

Rockabella Beauty is my response to that.

It’s a space where no one is made to feel like they need to be anyone but their beautiful, unique selves, and where individuality is not only accepted but also celebrated.

We don’t just offer services. We create experiences that respect you, celebrate you, and centre your wellbeing. We're here to protect and pamper your nails and skin — and also to listen, to care, and to celebrate what already makes you beautiful.

Thank you for being part of our community, and I look forward to welcoming you to our salon soon.
